Scope of works:

Works consisted of the demolition of all remaining buildings, including the breaking out of ground slabs and foundations across the site.

The site itself was surrounded by residential buildings to the north and south, with a secondary school in close proximity to the east, and a new care home was under construction to the west, on the same parcel of land as the structures to be demolished. Close liaison with neighbours and the construction team was key to ensure the safe delivery of this project.

Further constraints to the project included mature trees along the site boundary which needed to be retained; with nesting birds and bats present in multiple trees and one structure. Tree protection fencing was installed, and teams worked in collaboration with a qualified Ecologist to minimise impact, and enable the controlled demolition of structures.
